It all started with dark clouds in the sky. All of a sudden wind was shaking plants. This was a sign of a thunderstorm coming.
I got on my knees to pray for over 90% of the families in Uganda who live in insecure accommodation. My prayer emphasis was that the good Lord does not leave them house less.
Many times on different TV Channels we see homes of people which should have been phased out by this time. We see women cry for mercy after being evicted.
Many times we see schools which are not worth having children attend there. You wonder what happens when a storm comes and meets them at school.
Many Ugandans live the way they do simply because their leaders have not done enough to see them in decent houses. Meanwhile, many political leaders are in a drive to enrich themselves in a situation where many have no houses to talk about.
During the Holy Week in 2023, many of our leaders need to revisit their priorities and focus on the welfare of the people. It is unbelievable the way majority of Ugandans live.
Though we can send prayers to God, let those in authority seriously think about the welfare of the people under them. Regarding housing, unfortunately, Uganda is a sad story.
