FARE THEE WELL NORAH NDAGIRE SESSANGA

I DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT WORDS TO EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE TO ALL THOSE WHO HELPED US AS WELL AS THOSE WHO TURNED UP TO GIVE OUR AUNT, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER NORAH NDAGIRE SESSANGA 89 A MAGNIFICENT SENDOFF.

I find it hard to list all the big and small people in the Church of Uganda who turned up to give our aunt, mother and grandma a much befitting send off we witnessed. We say: Thank you so much. You were really friends in need.

Norah Ndagire Sessanga was born on March 18, 1932 to Lazaalo Ssebayizzi and Zewuliya Nakibuuka of Ssisa - Gayaza village in Kajjansi Town Council. She belonged to Mamba clan.

Norah was baptized on April 24, 1932.

She was confirmed in 1945.

She got saved on 18th March 1948 when she was at Lady Irene College Ndejje where she trained as a Grade 1 teacher for 2 years from 1948 - 1949.

She taught in a number of schools:

1950 - Kisweera Primary School;

1951 - 1952 Mukono Practicing Primary School.

She got married on 3rd January 1953, we’re blessed with 11 children and by 1/3/2021 three had died.

After she was married, transfers were made to the couple to different schools:

1953 - Kibuuka Memorial Primary School;

1954 - 1960 Mabanda Primary School;

1961 - 1962 Kibuuka Memorial PS;

1963 - 1964 St. Aloysius College, Teso;

1965 - 1967 Kaggulwe Butambala;

1968 - 1970 Bishop Tucker  college, Mukono;

1971 - 1974 Buwere PS (Retired).

Norah Ndagire Sessanga was buried at the Archdeacon Church of Mbale - Mpigi in (West Buganda Diocese).

We are grateful to the testimonies given by the clergy and others who had the opportunity to speak. Our aunt was not only a model parent, she lived a real Christian life and was a living testimony of it. She lover her husband Canon Ephraim Sessanga so much and Canon reciprocated.

There was testimony that both Norah and Canon Sessanga were active at attending fellowship meetings. This testimony was given by Canon Miwanda who represented the Namirembe Fellowship of the East African Revival who meet at Kitende in Kajjansi Town Council.

There is a long document that was written by Canon Sessanga which he gave to someone and he said, “If Maama goes died, please endeavor to read the document to the mourners”. The document is in an Artistic handwriting by Canon Sessanga. It reflects how organized he is as a teacher / clergy.

Gratitude to the in - laws from the family of the Late Stephen Walakira Lwere of Kikondo Katende Mawokota viz Joyce Bukirwa Sessanga for the huge contribution they gave in towards the send off of Maama Norah Ndagire Sessanga.

I cannot fail to mention the big heart by many from Mityana. I should kneel down to thank the family of Munyanzinza for the huge contribution to the sending off of our parent. The Rotarians of Mityana, thank you so much for the love. The others include, but are not limited to: Mityana Diocese, Mityana All Saints, Mityana Singo, Mothers’ Union - Busimbi, St. Andrew’s Cathedral.

A big thank you to the grandchildren of Lazaalo Ssebayizzi for the contribution in the support of Norah Sessanga.

We thank Maama Kawuma for the love towards her friend Norah Sessanga, Hon. Ameria Kyambadde for the love to Sessanga family. Rt. Hon. Kintu Musoke who told us that he was the eldest son of Canon Sessanga Canon got him from the village and cared for him, hence substantially contributing to his successful career life which saw him get to the level of Prime Minister of Uganda.

All in all, we say: “Thank you all”.
