THE NRM’S INDIFFERENCE TO LEAD TO MORE PEOPLE DYING DUE TO STRESS

Yesterday, Thursday, 26th September 2013, saw the burial of Jimmy Kitaka Kajoba who had been the Manager of Jinja Agricultural Show Ground.  Jimmy is alleged to have collapsed while he was travelling in a taxi to Kampala last Saturday.  It is said that the taxi took Kitaka to Mukono Hospital where it was established that his pressure was very high.  Efforts were made to ring the number he had last talked to, which helped get the various people to help.  When pressure dropped a bit, the Ambulance donated by Nambooze was supplied with fuel and it took Kitaka to Nakasero Hospital where he died on Tuesday after doctors established that blood had gone to his brain, etc.
According to one of the mourners, Jimmy’s stroke was attributed to stress.  He was demanding a lot of money due to him from Uganda National Farmers’ Federation, yet he had obligations to meet fees of his two children still at University in addition to seeing his personal house completed.
Jimmy’s case may apply to a number of people working for the Government of Uganda and or its suppliers who find themselves getting peanuts an for the contractors, stress as they get assets tendered as security sold off to recover bank funds.
The indifference of the NRM Government is partly due to the arrogance of some of its leaders.  If Government is serious, it can cut on wastage and get money to inject into productive areas.  Secondly, through ill  advised policies like the continued sponsorship of students who excel while parents have ability to pay as well as the pouring into the economy money in form of supplementary budget finance are all reasons why the currency depreciates and fixed wage earners get a raw deal to which Government keeps postponing solution.
If Uganda Government leaders are seriously having the plight of the people they should get sense and cut areas on which money is spent recklessly.  Time is ripe to have MPs against population figures, as well as get the MPs for women, youth, the Army, workers out of Parliament.  The Government has departments where all these categories are represented, there are few instances where private members bills get far, many bills come from Government, and it is to the respective Government departments that these categories should address.
If NRM is interested in remaining in power longer, they need to get sense into what they are doing.  The mismanaging of manpower so that at the end of the day the manpower fends for itself, be it stealing drugs, etc will not enhance development for the country.

FOR FAILING TO BLOCK SHELL KAJJANSI FROM CONSTRUCTION, UMEME SHOULD RE-LOCATE ITS STATION.

It surprises me that you get an infrastructure dangerously located next to a UMEME power station and UMEME failed to block it and it is set to supply fuel to those who need it.
I wish to advise that since UMEME failed to block this development, they should urgently see to the re-location of their power infrastructure.  Many should be aware that the State House power infrastructure passes at this power station.
I have witnessed the power blow at this station, and I simply don’t understand how this station could be located at where it is among all possible alternatives

SHELL STATION ABOVE KAJJANSI POWER SUB- STATION CANNOT BE!

Dear all,

It is just this morning that I have observed that the new Shell Station at Kajjansi is just above the Kajjansi Power Sub - station.

Surely, there is no way this can be.  Just the week that has ended, there was some fire in that sub - station at around 3.00 pm.  There is no way we can have technical people who over look this type of developments which are destructive to the community.

Hopefully, this station will be stopped.

William Kituuka
Mario Remigious, any info on this development? If not, please visit this location and provide some urgent feedback ie is it within our way leaves corridor? Have they applied for power yet?

Colleagues,
I don’t think UNRA approved this petro station. It is the
responsibility of NEMA to approve petro stations after
consulting concerned bodies including UNRA. I am sure we
were not consulted in this regard. We are going to visit the
site today and look at the documents at the site and if they
are not genuine, we may swing into action and block the
 access road.

Good day all,
The issue of this petro station had been my obsession since 2010 when they started
initial earth work. I wanted back then to serve the developer with a notice but the neighbours claimed they did not have his contacts. When later resumed construction, I visited the site with Trevor. I saw documents of approval
from all concerned bodies including UNRA & they wanted
approval from Umeme after all works were done.

No such approval could be given & we talked to the site foreman about this, expressing our safety concerns.  They are only sandwiched between Ebb line1&2 but also dangerously close to the substation. Trevor, i hope this is
still the position & we have not given them
supply.

To the best of my knowledge, this developer
knows 'we don’t have teeth', so he just ignored
umeme. Clearly the hazards stare in your face when you visit
the place.

Regards
Mario

I AM SHORT OF WORDS ON LEARNING THE DEATH OF MY FRIEND JIMMY KITAKA!!!

How can i bid farewell to my youth friend Jimmy Kitaka.  Jimmy until his death has been managing the Jinja Agricultural Show Ground.  I met Jimmy at Campus, he was a year below me.  I re-joined jimmy when I was posted to Uganda Commercial Bank Jinja Main.  Jinja was then a teacher.  We remained good social friends and friends in need.
This morning, I am short of words to learn that my good friend Jimmy who on a number of times would re-reimburse my transport or at least give me the fare back to Kampala whenever I called on, has passed on at Nakasero Hospital!!
Jimmy is brother to another Kitaka formerly LC III Chairman who gave president Museveni a "Lubengo" in the days of Kisanja.
Jimmy where have you left me?  What about our dear children?
One time I called on Jimmy and I asked for photos of the Show, some of the images he gave me are below on the link:

Uganda: Agricultural Show Touts Food Security
By Eriosi Nantaba, 17 July 2013
Jinja — The Uganda National Farmers Federation (UNFFE) has held the 21st Source of the Nile National Agricultural and Trade Show at Jinja Show ground in eastern Uganda, in a bid to Promote Agro-technologies to enhance food security and competitiveness in the regional markets.
The show set a platform for displaying and identifying innovations made by local and foreign companies through improved technologies for better production, marketing and poverty eradication.
According to the show manager, Jimmy Kitaka, for the last twenty years UNFFE organizes different stakeholders in agriculture and other sectors in liaison with Ministry of Agriculture and its agencies like NAADs, NARO, and NAGRIC etc to showcase various technologies, programs and interventions geared towards uplifting our giant sector - Agriculture. "We focus to encourage smart farming with a view to enhance sustainable national food security, farm incomes and regional market opportunities. This will make us benefit the advantages of regional co-operation," said Kitaka.
He said, "The exhibitors who come as far as Egypt, Israel and around East Africa lessen the fear our Ugandan Poor, Middle and High class citizens have in farming despite huge business gains the sector exhibits."
There were a number of products showcased in the areas of agricultural equipment and machinery, agro-chemicals, agro-processed products, telecommunications, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, food stuffs, handicrafts, interior decorations, cultural entertainment, environment protection and education materials among others.
The show is timely with the agriculture calendar of the country since it's the period when farmers are opening land for the annual season expected in September-October.
"Credible seed companies sell their seeds for the entire week and as such farmers interact with credible companies in order to save them from buying counterfeit seeds, drugs and other implements for this season," Kitaka added.
President Museveni will officially open the 16th annual Source of the Nile national agricultural and trade show in Jinja today. Show goers thronged the venue as early as 9:00am yesterday, even though some exhibition stands were still under construction. Jimmy Kitaka, the show manager, said the event had attracted over 200 local and foreign exhibitors.

JIMMY KITAKA WEERABA !!!

JIMMY KITAKA WEERABA!!!

Jimmy Kitaka who has been Manager of Jinja Agricultural Show Ground will be laid to rest, Thursday, 26th September, 2013 at 2.00pm.  When you get to Nile Breweries, you branch towards the former Nytil then continue.

1 Corinthians 15:20-23
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the first fruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

John 6:37-40

Jesus said to the crowd:
“Everything that the Father gives me will come to me,
and I will not reject anyone who comes to me,
because I came down from heaven not to do my own will
but the will of the one who sent me.
And this is the will of the one who sent me,
that I should not lose anything of what he gave me,
but that I should raise it on the last day.
For this is the will of my Father,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him
may have eternal life,
and I shall raise them on the last day.”
