UGANDA NEEDS TO INVEST IN FOOLPROOF VOTING MECHANISM TO HAVE PEOPLE'S TRUST IN THE EXERCISE.

It is a very big shame to those highly qualified professionals in Uganda who make senseless decisions and waste tax payer monies.  You find a whole Doctor (PhD) holder, people with great qualifications making stupid and senseless decisions which could easily lead the country in big danger for the people know what they want, and you cannot force them to eat what they do not like.

Time is now for the fooling around to stop.  Can the decision makers plan to have a foolproof voting system in place?  We have about 5 years in all to fix this.  We are fed up of the continued buying and investment in machines which are just fooling the public.  Imagine they bought  Voter verifying machines, the question is:  What is the use of the machines when vote stuffing is the order of the day.  We need our leaders for once to be serious.

We now hear that agents of some candidates were bribed and the decision of voters changed.  With modern equipment, I think this variable will be out of the picture.

In a nutshell, let the decision makers make useful decisions.  I at times find it difficult not to abuse people who went to school but instead keep doing stupid things in real day practice.

26th FEBRUARY 2016 IS 2nd ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF BROTHER (DR) COSMAS KAFEERO KIWANUKA.

On the morning of 26th February 2014, after information from Nassali  who was the care taker of Brother Kafeero was he was in very bad shape, I travelled to Mulago Cancer Institute.  I met some close relatives of Brother Kafeero.  He was on Oxygen, but all hope had gone.  It seemed he had started getting cold.  I thanked God for the time I had got with Brother Kafeero and that he knew me as a friend.

I got home, prepared for a long journey to Mt. St. Teresa to have my last respects for a man of God who I saw slowly get to his end.  When I arrived at Kisubi, I was informed that the Brother had been pronounced dead.

I made the communication below to SMACK OBs:

I WAS IN UCB WHEN DR. FRANK MWINE AS MANAGING DIRECTOR OF UGANDA COMMERCIAL BANK. REVOLUTIONIZED THE BANK.

The passing on of Former Managing Director of Uganda Commercial Bank Dr. Frank Mwine is very sad.  I was in the Bank as accountant when Dr. Mwine was Managing Director.  He will be remembered for some radical policies.  He expanded the bank so much to spread his ambitious rural farmers scheme.  He created a number of new branches and promoted many staff who were Supervisors and Accounts to branch managers.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE

Uganda: Former UCB Managing Director Dead

Kampala — The Former Uganda Commercial Bank (UCB) Managing Director and Chairman, Mr Frank Mwine is dead, the family has confirmed to The Daily Monitor.
Mwine, 73, died on Tuesday night in Los Angeles, United States. The cause of death is yet to be announced by the family.
For Ugandans, Mwine is known for his role as the boss of UCB, the largest bank in Uganda in the 1980's and early 1990's, before it was privatized in 2001.
In 1987, Mwine a lawyer left the World Bank to join UCB as the Chairman and Managing Director.
In the book Advancing the Ugandan Economy: A Personal Account, Dr Ezra Suruma, the Makerere University Vice Chancellor revealed that in the five years Mwine was the UCB MD, the bank expanded from 60 to 180 branches.
Spreading branches to rural areas was a mission Mwine took on in what was described an opportunity to bring banking services closer to the people in rural areas.
Mwine also led UCB through the turbulent times before Suruma took-over from him in 1993. In fact during the branch expansion at UCB, the state did not provide sufficient funds to keep those branches operational for a longer period of time. Even when he left the bank, Mwine was opposed to the privatization of UCB, insisting that a government run bank would cater for the financial requirements of people in rural areas.

WHERE ARE NRM’S 10.2 MILLION VOTERS?

Speaking to The Observer by telephone on July 17, Ofwono Opondo, the deputy NRM spokesperson and executive director of the Uganda Media Centre, said the party secretariat informed President Museveni during a seven-hour Central Executive Committee, CEC, meeting at State House Entebbe on Thursday, that the new NRM membership stood at 10.2 million people.

The results of the Presidential Polls show that there were less than 9,800,000 people who cast their vote.  Now, where does NRM get those darling voters who had the courtesy to stay at home on 18th February 2016 which left candidate Museveni with about 5,700,000 (including invalid votes) ?

Our Voting system has a lot of loopholes more so many who are decision makers are devil driven with no morals worth talking about.  We told the NRM leaders that there is NO WAy they could have over 10 million voters (members who are voters) when the Electoral Commission had just over 15 million, yet when even the figure of 15 million is disputed.

THE HOPE OF UGANDANS IS IN EMBRACING: UGANDA AGENDA 2021.

UGANDA AGENDA 2021

KIWANUKA KITUUKA UGANDA AGENDA 2021

This Agenda is to be based on:
UNITY OF UGANDANS IN A FEDERATED ARRANGEMENT IN AN ASSOCIATION ARRANGEMENT WITH ALL CATEGORIES OF WORKERS INCLUSIVE WITH THE INCORPORATION OF COMMUNITY DRIVEN INITIATIVES AS ITS PILLARS.

The idea is to unite Ugandans as workers who are aiming at making decent lives.  This is against the background that majority of Uganda workers are less productive, with reasons among others: the bad and un-conducive political climate; poor and unworthy returns to work; poor training; lack of skills and motivation and the loss of hope given the prevailing political circumstances.

Uganda has degenerated to where it is due to:
1.      Corruption which has become institutionalized and continues to eat away the resources that would boost the economic pillars or growth and eventual development;
2.      The patronage by the Museveni NRM Government, where resources that would go to the betterment of the welfare of the masses go into benefitting a handful as well as into administrative expenditures which are not directly productive;
3.      The Museveni Government policies that have failed to boost the agricultural sector on which the biggest part of the population directly as well as indirectly depends;
4.      Poor training of manpower later on motivation of workers which leads to brain drain and poor productivity of those in employment more so by Government;
5.      The lack of proper monitoring of resources both tax revenues and the donor driven programmes.  The Auditor General has excelled at reporting the loss of funds instead of having his office intervene to avoid this loss;
6.      The sub- division of the country into over 100 districts has simply rewarded the politicians at the expense of service delivery, hence the would be community initiatives are not facilitated yet these would be so beneficial in the development of the people.

Kiwanuka Kituuka is coming up with the initiative off Uganda Agenda 2021 following the frustration he has suffered under the Museveni Government twice; that is in 2010 and 2014 & 2015 when fundraising efforts made have been frustrated by the Government intervention such that NO funds have come directly to him after the appeals.   He would be one of the contesting Presidential candidates for 2016 if it were not for the Museveni Government machinery intervention.

He would like to start mobilization of the people of Uganda under a well-organized arrangement in an Association (which will give each one opportunity to remain within his/her political party), but work to see transition of the country into a better governed undertaking with the objectives as stability in a Federated arrangement with all workers productive to see to better wealth creation hence strategies to see to employment generation starting with a boost to the agricultural sector which is the main stay of the economy, and without whose boost, poverty alleviation remains a dream.

By the 5th year from now November 2015, we should be having workers in Uganda who appreciate that they can be the pillars of a better organized Government that may be elected in 2021, and that they could be the pillars o that Government without having to move from their political parties. We would like to see Uganda get to evolve into an International Business Hub, which is impossible under the current Governance or a non-properly thought out alternative. We should then aim at a Uganda that will:

                    Make strides to become a leading tourist destination in the world;

       ii.            Become an enhanced investment destination after harmonization of utility costs to suit competitive business undertakings, not forgetting the availability of skilled, semi – skilled, unskilled labour, the availability of the land resource to mention a few;

      iii.            Attract innovations and scientific skills;

    iv.            Evolve into an Education Hub that will welcome all knowledge seekers and givers;
      v.            Become a growing real and potential market for goods and services;

    vi.            Increase production levels, productivity and variety will boost the export market and hence benefit investors that will be involved;

   vii.            Boost enterprises in financial services hence make a big kill as the country has about 62% of the population unserved by any kind of financial institution.  Uganda suffers from a low saving rate, low levels of lending, all of which will be taped into by potential investors who will take advantage of the incentives created.

 viii.            End up with good climatic conditions as well as a politically stable environment anticipated due to consensus which will rule in decision making, all within a liberalized economic set up awaits all to take advantage of.

GIVEN THE FRUSTRATION OF MAJORITY O UGANDANS, THE PRAYER IS THAT INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT WILL BE REALIZED TO SEE UGANDA AGENDA 2021 A REALITY.

HON. AMAMA MBABAZI FURTHER EXPOSED THE ROT IN NRM GOVERNMENT

While on CBS 89.2FM on the evening of 16th February 2016, the last day on which Presidential and Parliamentary candidates had their campaigns, Right Hon. Amama Mbabazi told the listeners how the NRM Government constructs a kilometer of tarmac road at US$1,000,000 while Kenya does the same at US$300,000 and Rwanda at US$350,000. Uganda’s cost is 3.3 times that of Kenya while it is 2.85 that of Rwanda and yet that the life of these roads is relatively short.
It is not clear how World Bank and other donors continue to fund
Uganda roads at such astronomical cost.
Given the developments in Uganda, there is need for serious prayers for a country where corruption is the norm yet where a number of people have lost hope for life worth living

KIWANUKA KITUUKA SHOULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES IF GOVERNMENT HAD NOT FRUSTRATED THE EFFORTS

I had  come up with the decision to stand for President of Uganda in 2016 given my conviction that I could fund raise using the Internet facility and my creativeness as well as innovation abilities.  Indeed I got it wrong as the machinery I was to use is wholly in the hands of the NRM Government.  To date, I believe I have sent out about 3,000 appeals internationally.  However, when I last contacted Barclays Bank, the reply I got was as follows:
Dear Mr. Kituuka,
We greatly apologise for the delay in response to your email.
We have checked with our EFT system and there is no evidence that funds were ever remitted to your account.
However, it is impossible to check further because more information would be required. Information like the amounts, currency, mode of transfer and the remitter.  If you can get the remitter to provide this information, we will be happy to check further.
Kind regards,
Sharon Amayo I   Customer Service   I   COO's Office

Barclays Bank of Uganda Limited, Plot 2, Hannington Road Barclays.com
I made a mistake to have used the above strategy; however, mistakes are to humans.  This was the second time I was fund raising for the big office.  The 1st time was in 2010 when not less than 4 of my emails collapsed/ceased to exist.  One of the formats of my appeals was as indicated on the link below:
And, surprisingly, my communication to a certain Mr Ishaq Sentongo who was responsible in Cairo International bank did not receive any response and the same was the case with Bank of Uganda then (2010) and even this time around (2015).
I believe a number of Government organs and Ministries are involved in blocking the funding.  These among others include: Bank of Uganda, Ministry of Finance, President’s Office, Uganda Communications’ Commission to mention a few.
I needed at least shs 60bn or US $24m to show Ugandans a different approach to campaigns and get to convince them to support my bid.  I had no worry contesting with President Museveni given my strategies and it looks like my chances to contest have run out.
I thank God who gave me the determination to wish to contest, 2ndly, the ability to be able to communicate to the whole world about the plight of Ugandans and what I see as the strategies that could help the situation.
By October 2014, I had seen that the way to go was to unite Ugandans as a leader given the way party politics has divided the people and the loss of hope for any better future given the governance of the NRM Government.  I was able to tell Ugandans and the international community that given the number of political parties in existence, there was no certainty that any single party could make 50% in the Presidential vote, so, the way forward is to join hands.  And, that running for President is an expensive undertaking such that other parties apart from the NRM – O have no ability of easily raising the substantial amount necessary to be influential enough and manage the logistics for President Single handed.
I thank all who may have fund raised for my bid in 2010 and this time round.  I am most grateful to their sacrifice and support, though the Government of Uganda knows where the resources were/have been put.
To those involved in this game of confiscating such resources, I pray to the Almighty God to see what is worthy for their destiny in life.
Kiwanuka Kituuka

ONLY GOD KNOWS WHETHER PARENTS WILL SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO SCHOOL ON 22nd FEBRUARY THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF 1st TERM.

The business people who are used to the influx of parents, children and students as the new academic year opens cannot believe what they are seeing.  There are very few people calling to buy items for children going back to school.  At this moment in time, parents with children joining Secondary one ought to be doing big shopping, but surprisingly, nothing of the type is seen.

One can only see security personnel everywhere which shows that things are not well.  It is unfortunate that whenever people are having big expectations like a change at the top, things turn out the other way round.  Developments which have seen the switching off of mobile money are a big surprise to the people who know that large sums of money are easily remitted using mobile money.

It will be so bad if parents decide to hold children at home simply because of developments where they can never be sure of what happens next.  What if their children are cut off at school?

The fruits of the NRM 5 year bush war are what we are witnessing now.  Surely, after 30 years in power, the country would see a civilized change of leadership at the top.  It is sad.  Hope God saves the country from the likes of developments in Somalia.

I WAITED FOR 7 HOURS BEFORE POLLING MATERIALS WERE DELIVERED

Since 1996, I have been casting my vote in two Polling Stations within Kajjansi Trading Centre (8miles Entebbe Highway), hinterland.  In all instances at both Kajjansi Dispensary and Faith Trust Polling Stations, Polling had all the time started by 7.00am, that is 1996, 2001, 2006 and 2011.

This time round on February 18, 2016, I arrived at the station at 7.08am.  There was no sign of any organization for voting at the station.  I met voters on one line in a situation where there were supposed to be two distinct lines (A – NAJ) and (NAK – Z).
By around 8.00am, the mapping out of the areas where the polling was to be undertaken started, and what had been one line was eventually divided into two given the categorization.
It was a big wait for 7 hours before a vehicle in dangerous mechanical condition (DMC) arrived with the Polling materials.

By the time of arrival of the materials, a number of people had decided to go back home or their places of work.  However, about an hour or so after the delivery, at past 2pm, the Polling officially started.

It was encouraging to see many voters determined to stay until they cast their vote, and indeed by 3pm the turn up was really impressive.

IT IS UNFORTUNATE HOW NRM GOVERNMENT COULD PUT OFF MOBILE MONEY SERVICE WITH NO PRIOR WARNING TO USERS

It was a big shock when towards mid-night on February 17, 2016 when I tried to get money from my phone to buy airtime, and the function could not work.  Initially I thought that it was my phone that had a problem.  Early in the morning when I was already lining up to vote, I heard from CBS 88.8 FM that Government had put off the Mobile Money service, the Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter.  I could not believe, but the truth is that where power struggle is involved, anything is possible in Uganda.

Image result for image of MTN mobile money

At the time of putting of the above services more so the mobile money, it is the time when many schools accept money sent by mobile money services, many people have deals which were to get cashed on 18th from the mobile money on their phones.  It is completely unacceptable that at this age in time, a civilized government could put off such a crucial service.  One party could be looking for a solution through mobile money either to effect payment or receive or otherwise, but it is unbelievable that the NRM Government which is never ashamed of anything could put off such a service and suspend it with no clear terms as to when it will be available.  It is a big shame.  That is why we shall always remain behind.
