UGANDA GOVERNMENT SHOULD EMPHASIZE REFRESHER COURSES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE THAN SWAHILI TEACHING

There is concern about the priorities of the Government of Uganda.  It is a fact that Government is in high gear getting the teaching of Swahili implemented in schools.  However, it is also true that English language is more useful to the citizens of Uganda given that it is the official language.  Unfortunately, many teachers who teach English are not fluent at the subject.  This means that the teaching is so defective to the extent that poor communication and communicating wrongly is greatly responsible for poor performance in English language.

I am of the opinion that teaching English language is given the first priority and this should go a step further such that teachers are given refresher courses meant to boost the ability of teachers.
