“IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL”

“IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL”

The main thrust of what I am communicating is that despite the circumstances I find myself in (where some people decided to steal the proceeds to my fundraising twice for President of Uganda, and other resources I have raised since hence leading to my failure to enjoy a decent life, meet my obligations and more so, having been disabled to help Namutamba Parish Community and ending up living like a pauper), the truths about Christ and his mission in this sinful world uphold me.

I thank God for He has given me a lease for this long 12 years now, surrounded by my enemies who decided to steal what is due to me by virtue of their influence, connections, and the feeling of entitlement in the current political dispensation.

He may decide that I cease to be, and that will be His wish. Unfortunately, I will go leaving incomplete business. For 12 years now, I have longed to have what I rightfully fundraised, but my appeals have not received positive response. That means, the plans I have for Namutamba Parish, though I raised the money are yet to be fulfilled because money the driver to see my dreams into reality was stolen by the powerful in Uganda.

I have tried my level best. I have appealed to the highest office in the land. I don’t know whether a miracle can happen. I have nothing to do. That is how far political power can take people. I am sorry to the Namutamba Parish Community in that I think I have done my level best. I had the plan in my head to see the area get started on the road to sustainable economic development. I realized my dream of raising the funds to get my plans implemented, but the powerful in Uganda decided otherwise - and my money was shared!

I did my part. What remains, I only entrust to God. Whether He decides that I depart this world anytime now, I will definitely go, but I believe my wishes are known in case I cease to be. That is how frustrating life can be in our type of political set up.

THE CIRCULAR BY UNEB ON COURSEWORK ASSESSMENT SEEMS NOT TO HAVE HAD GOOD CONSULTATIONS

DID UNEB DO NECESSARY CONSULTATIONS BEFORE COMING UP WITH A CIRCULAR ON HANDLING COURSEWORK ASSESSMENT FOR 2022 CANDIDATES?

The Circular from Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has taken many in the Education circles more so in secondary schools by surprise.

Such an innovation should have had key stakeholders participate in its evolution.

We are all aware that performance at S4 and S6 is a major basis for marketing schools. Given that fact, a number of stakeholders should have come together to identify a strategy by which the innovation would be rolled out.

We have known of Mock Examinations. Possibly, these would be an agreeable method of assessing students. But for UNEB to say that schools submit coursework results, yet when that coursework is to contribute to the final assessment of learners, I think learners will not have justice.

If coursework is to be put into consideration, UNEB would need to first ensure that all secondary schools are doing the right thing. We are aware that students who would be in S3 this year having missed time due to COVID are now in S4. We are aware that the term as by the date of this article has about 15 days to the end. Is UNEB sure that all the learners have covered same stuff in first term? If UNEB for example came up with end of 1st term exams countrywide, would the results not be shocking.

Looking at coursework in grading students would be good, but there is no common ground that is just against which this can be done. I think UNEB needs to be in touch with schools and emphasize what the candidates must have covered in first term, second term and third term given that learners have a challenge of covering work on two years in one year.

Just to cut the long story short, UNEB should suspend this circular and ensure that secondary school teachers are properly guided on what they should teach out of which finals examinations will be set by UNEB.

Secondly, most schools are bound to be tempted to give candidates higher marks because it is performance in final exams that markets these schools. There is no good guidance by which these schools can avoid the temptation of giving wrong figures more so when UNEB Officers have not seen the students’ coursework papers.

What the circular says.

The Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) has asked schools to submit to it first and second term coursework assessment marks for Senior Four and Senior Six candidates.

In a March 15 letter to all head teachers of secondary schools, the Uneb executive director, Mr Dan Odongo, said the coursework assessment marks will be submitted electronically and will be considered when grading the candidates’ final Uneb results for the 2022 academic year.

Mr Odongo said coursework assessment is key and an ingredient of the results in the subjects for which it is a requirement.

HOW COULD THE NRM GOVERNMENT SPEND SHS 2.5BN ON BURIAL OF OULANYAH?

WHAT ARE THE PRIORITIES OF THE NRM GOVERNMENT FOLLOWING THE HEFTY EXPENDITURES TO SEE OFF LATE Rt. HON. JACOB OULANYAH?

Uganda Government MUST have priorities or else some actors in Government are simply ignorant of what they are doing. Tuesday, March 29 many Ugandans could not believe that a serious Government that has been in power for 36 years could make a budget of shs 2.5bn to see off the dead body of just one person.

Ugandans were shocked on February, 8 2022 when the then Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among confirmed that Oulanyah had been taken to US. It was later leant that the Parliament of Uganda had chartered a Uganda Airlines plane at a discounted cost of US $500,000 (Shs 1.7bn)!

It is important to note that if the Medical Board of Uganda which is mandated to authorize such treatment for Government officers had been left to do its job, I think they would have said that it was too late to save Oulanyah’s life, hence he needed to be cared for locally until God would decide otherwise.

Before we talk of the budget to burial, it is a fact that Uganda has spent on the hospital where Oulanyah was taken and the people who have been in his care. There was expenditure on a delegation including the Deputy Speaker who hurried to USA possibly to see him before he breathed his last.

We as Ugandans appreciate the good works by Oulanyah and many pray to God that He is forgiven whatever he may have done wrong to fellow men as well as his God. However, in a country with stinking poverty, it is unbelievable that some people could have come up with a budget of shs 2.5bn for the burial of Oulanyah.

It would have made a lot of sense if Government decided for example to start a revolving fund of shs 2bn for the village mates of Oulanyah as consolation to them following the great loss of their dear son. I think the people would really benefit from such a scheme if put into hands of trustworthy Ugandans.

Government is able to raise shs 2.5bn for burial of Oulanyah but many health facilities don’t have basics. The Health services in Uganda are functioning partly because donors are at hand to assist, unfortunately, the leaders of those being assisted don’t realize how vulnerable they are financially to the extent that by the time Hon. Oulanyah is buried, the country may have spent in excess of shs 4bn! Where is the value for money here?

If these matters were not politicized, I imagine the Ministry of Finance would have said: No, given the unfunded priorities, shs 2.5bn is not available.

The Government has local or domestic arrears where people have for a long time failed to get payment. Some lost securities they gave to the financial institutions.

Any serious Ugandan should be praying to God that the country does not lose more high profile persons in the course of 2022, which unfortunately will not happen. We were shown a budget to burial of Mutebile which was not less than shs 400m, then Father Lokodo was also estimated to the tune of shs 409 including repatriation of the remains. At that rate surely where is Uganda headed to?

This is a subject I can write about endlessly. Until Ugandans in responsible offices become patriotic, the country is simply in a big mess.

MOTIVATION OF STAFF YIELDS POSITIVE RESULTS

WHY YOU NEED TO MOTIVATE YOUR EMPLOYEES.

By Suubi Anne

Sometimes employers are so demanding and want results from their employees without doing much for them. However, do you know that you can make more profits by simply motivating your employees?

Oh yes! Am not simply talking about salary here, there are so many things you can do that can make employees work better without you making so much noise.

Treat your employees with respect, this seems as though it is obvious and simple but you can hardly find this in the offices today. Respect is very important at least for everyone.

To treat people like they are horses is the quickest way of demotivating them. This causes them to be rebellious in some way and never go the extra mile even when they can. So learn how to respect your workers, it is a good motivation strategy.

You can give allowances even in the least amounts besides the salary. These allowances communicate that you care for them in a certain way.

It is not easy waiting for salary till end of the month and yet you may not have transport to go to work every day. You can give transport allowances among others. Even if it’s just 10,000, it speaks volumes.

Provide offs or leaves for your workers. This allows them to rest and refresh which means they keep in shape and work better. A happy employee means better delivery at least 95% of the time.

Rather than shouting and ill-treating them, talk to them and find out how best to work with them.

Sunday 13 March 2022

IT IS BY GRACE OF GOD THAT I WILLIAM KITUUKA KIWANUKA STILL HAS LIFE.

GOD IS GREAT: 12 AND 7 YEARS RESPECTIVELY AFTER THE PROCEEDS TO MY FUNDRAISING FOR PRESIDENT WERE STOLEN, HE HAS CONTINUED TO GIVE ME A LEASE OF LIFE.

One of Uganda’s biggest problem is people who are connected and believe that they are entitled even to what belongs to others.

These people started stealing proceeds to my fundraising for President in 2010. They did not stop there. They went further and stole all that I raised when I wanted to stand for President in 2016.

God has been so good to me in that though I face terrible challenges He has guaranteed my life up to now. I am so grateful.

I know that since I am human, my life may be terminated anytime. In case I transition to the other world, this is how I should be seen off if by then the Government of Uganda organs concerned about my matters to not yielded to the recovery of what is due to me:

1. No Funeral Flowers - I am going through very terrible circumstances following the theft of funds due to me. I feel it best that I am seen off in an easy way where people may get photo images of my works or my personal photos. I want to leave flowers to those who see themselves entitled in Uganda and are at liberty to take what belongs to us for their personal enjoyment and satisfaction.

2. I belong to Church of Uganda and have prepared a booklet showing the order of Service and some areas to do with my works and a few photos. I would like this followed religiously.

3. A Tombstone clearly showing how I happen to be a victim of the NRM Administration.

Below are images that could be sampled from.
