Six people have been admitted at Fort Portal Regional Referral
Hospital in critical condition after they sustained serious injuries in a
Wednesday morning motor accident in Fort Portal town near Voice of
Tooro on Lugard Street.
By press time, police could only identify two of
the victims as Pastor Peace Luwoza and Abel Kanyankole of Kabarole
Christian fellowship church.
According to eye witnesses, the driver of a lorry, registration number UAU 761 L lost control and knocked a boy riding a bike, and two other cars in which the two pastors were traveling in. The cars were crashed beyond repair.
Police spokesperson for Rwenzori sub region, Mr Bakari Mugah Bashir confirmed the incident and added that police is hunting for the lorry driver who is on the run.
“Fort Portal Municipal Council must revise on the setup of the high way road in the middle of town and the parking of Lorries around town on the highway,” said an eye witness, Ms Janet Kyomya.
