  2. Hello Peter,
Interestingly not up to the pronouncement as Katikiro,I did not know you were an old boy of St. Mary's College Kisubi. I suspected though because you have proved to be legally and politically astute over the years coupled with your eloquence, one would tell "who grew you" as Ssebagala would say.
I have been a secret admirer of your leadership qualities over the years and I can't resist adding my voice to all elsewhere who have hailed the Kabaka for choosing you for this post.
The fact that you agreed to serve our Kingdom in such a demanding and sometimes controversial role is a plus. I pray you find support from every corner of the land and let the Divine God be your anchor.

Meanwhile on a personal level as a Muganda and an old boy of both St. Henry's College Kitovu and St.Mary's College Kisubi, I have never felt closer to the Kabaka's throne as I do after your appointment.
May you build on to what others have already laid foundation.
Pardon the writing(informal), I still hold you as Owekitibwa...most importantly in my heart.

    Long live the Kabaka.

    Regards,

    Allan Brian

    Dear All
I wish to most heartily congratulate Charles Peter Mayiga on the auspicious rise to the high rank of Katikkiro of Buganda.
Bravo and congratulations indeed. I wish him success and development for the kingdom. These can only be achieved through a well developed strategic plan implemented by seasoned leadership that assists to unlock the potential of every individual to fully participate and actively get involved in all issues of socioeconomic development . The whole army of St Mary's OBs should avail themselves to offer the necessary support and guidance which he should feel free to seek from time to time.
This is clear testimony to what I have been telling people about the inordinate role St Mary's plays in nurturing students into leadership and other positions for personal, national and international development. Can you believe it that in the period of twenty years (1993-2003) St Mary's has produced four Katikkiros, two Vice Presidents of the Republic of Uganda, seven Ministers of the Government of Uganda, over 15 high ranking CEOs of big Corporates and Parastatals. This is not to mention the sea of teachnical professionals in law, medicine, engineering, human resource management, professorial Chairs, UN and other International Agencies.
Therefore, there is even more justification for St Mary's to celebrate for Charles Peter Mayiga and for all those occupying those positions which they have always taken for granted.
May the Lord shower Charles with tonnes of wisdom.
