DOUGLAS KATUMBA 58 A SMACK OB PASSED ON SUNDAY NIGHT, FEBRUARY 28, 2021.
Douglas Katumba was at St. Mary’s College Kisubi from 1976 to 1979. He attended Namutamba Demonstration School. He was born to Seperia Katumba and Late Mrs Katumba on September 18, 1962.
He got a B.Sc in Statistics at Makerere University. He got an MBA from US.
He worked with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) for over 14 years and got a wealth of knowledge in Taxation Management.
In 2001 he realized that there was a gap in the Tour & Travel Industry (self drive car travel), that made him change from importing and selling used cars from Japan to Uganda to actually renting them out to increase Tourist portfolio.
He was the founder and Executive Director at Alpha Rent A Car at EMKA House, Plot 3 - 5 Bombo Road.
He grew the company from a handful of vehicles to the current fleet. His vision was to have the biggest self - drive company in Uganda.
We thank God for his contribution to Uganda his Alumni SMACK.
