The 1985-1986 Issue of Uganda currency on display in the C.N. Kikonyogo Money Museum
Establishment of the Museum:
The museum was established in
2001, in memory of the Late Governor
Charles Nyonyintono Kikonyogo (1990-2000) in honour of his contribution to the economy of
Uganda and central banking in particular.
Role of the Museum:

To educate and provide information to the public about money and central banking

To preserve and display the bank’s history, achievements and contribution to the economy of Uganda

To preserve, keep custody and display the country’s numismatic heritage

To exhibit different items that convey economic, cultural, social, political and technological history of Uganda at different points in time

The museum is located on Plot 45 Kampala Road, next to the Headquarters of the Bank of
