CONGRATULATIONS TO GENERAL EDWARD KATUMBA WAMALA UPON PROMOTION AND APPOINTMENT TO ARMY COMMANDER

Uganda People's Defence Force Lt. Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, Commander of the Land Forces and Major General David R. Hogg, Commander, U.S. Army Africa present gifts to the participating 36 African Land Force Chiefs at the closing ceremony for the African Land Forces Summit 2012, May 18.

The news this morning that former Commander of Land Forces Lt Gen Katumba Wamala has  been appointed Army Commander after promotion to the rank of General is not small news.  Though the timing is clear, given the character of the big man, it also comes to give the people of Buganda pride in their own who is one of the officers that have served with dedication and efficiency over a number of years.  Congratulations to the General.
