LESSONS FOR THE NRM GOVERNMENT FOLLOWING THE ID PROJECT

The way everybody has had to register again as if they had never registered is a lesson for the NRM Government.  If there had not been a lot of manipulation of the Voters’ register, people would just update a few things and that would be all, as new ones go through the exercise as is being carried on now.  There is general agreement that the Voters register is inflated.  In the current exercise, the NRM should look for credibility.  The biggest challenge as of now is the registration of refugees and non – Ugandans.  This is a category that can easily vote NRM candidates.  Those leaders in NRM who are alive should for once look for credibility.  It will never pay when the Government keeps on taking Ugandans for granted and doing things because they want to remain in power.  We are tired of this type of backwardness which some NRM leaders embrace.
