THE PASSING ON OF TECLA KINALWA ONE OF THE LONGEST SERVING PS DURING NRM TIME IS SAD






KAMPALA: One of Uganda’s longest serving permanent secretaries, Tecla Kinalwa will on Wednesday be buried at her residence in Najjeera, Wakiso District.

Mr Henry Louis, the son of the deceased told Daily Monitor that they were to establish the cause of mother’s, saying: “We are waiting for a medical report. She died on her way to Nakasero Hospital.


A requiem mass for Kinalwa will be held at Rubaga Cathedral on Wednesday November 5, 2014 at 9am and she will be buried at 2pm at her home in Najjera the same day.


Kinalwa worked as the Ministry of Local Government permanent secretary between 1990 and 1996 before moving to State House as Comptroller, a position she served for 10 years from 1996 to 2003.
She was later in 2003 deployed at the Office of the President as permanent secretary before retiring the position in 2013.

Retirement
After retiring, she was appointed as a board member at the Uganda Human Rights Commission, a post she had been holding up to the time of her death.


Kinalwa was born in 1945. She studied at Trinity College Nabingo before moving to Mount St Marys Namagunga. She later joined Makerere University.
She is survived by four children and a husband.
