I see no bigger revolution in Uganda compared to the Mobile Money.
The man who is a Ugandan and spearheaded the Mobile Money Revolution in Uganda is Dr. Charles Mbire through MTN.
When I joined St. Mary's College Kisubi in 1974, Charles was in Secondary II. He was attached to Mugwanya House.
I belonged to the poor category of students, and Mbire was in a class of the well to do.
Mbire one Old Boy of the school who has given it support. In 2006 he sponsored the school website in a sense that he gave the host/designer company a blank cheque! His company has sponsored a number of Sporting activities at the school. He was the 1st person to buy a DSTV Facility for the school.
Dr. Mbire deserves recognition for his role and that of his company in getting mobile money a reality in Uganda.
