KAMPALA - The son of Ugandan singer Juliana Kanyomozi will be laid to rest on Friday at 4.00pm local time in Matugga.
Keron Raphael Kabugo, 11, died at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya's capital on Sunday after suffering an asthma attack.
His death has been met with a surge of tributes from Juliana's friends, fellow musicians, fans and wellwishers, with many sending their condolences on social media.
The young boy's body will be flown in later today (Tuesday) at 7.00pm (EAT). Juliana is in Nairobi with Amon Lukwago (Keron's father) and will both accompany their son's remains.
Juliana said her celebrity status did not stop her from being a good mother
His grieving mother has described him as a “fighter” and says she will try to be as “strong as I possibly can”.
Mourners have since Monday been keeping vigil at Juliana’s home in Lungujja as they await the arrival of the child's body.
‘Loved dogs and art’
Family and friends started collecting at the musician’s home as early as 9.00am local time Monday, and the mood was and is still understandably somber.

“He was an intelligent and hardworking boy. He loved video games, football, art [drawing] and writing,” he told New Vision.
“He loved dogs and fellow kids.
“His dream was to become an artist.”

‘We are here to support her. Juliana loves people but I know she loved her son so dearly,” she said.
There will be a funeral service at All Saints Cathedral in Kampala at 10.00am local time on Wednesday.
'Intelligent, good boy'
Little Keron's grandmother says she will miss "my handsome intelligent boy" with whom they shared a strong bond together.
The pain in her voice was clear as she told New Vision of the times she and Keron would chat and eat together.
"By just looking at him, I could tell he would grow into a handsome man. He was a good boy. A listener. Respectful," she said.

"Two weeks ago, he came back home from school and complained to me that he felt pain in his lungs. I asked him how he could tell that it was the lungs, but then he insisted. So we eventually took him Nakasero Hospital at 3.00pm. He was checked and put on oxygen. We left the hospital at 9.00pm that same day after assurances from the medics that the boy would be okay."
But later that evening, Keron's condition worsened and he was admitted at the same hospital, where, after thorough diagnosis, was found to have pneumonia.
Meanwhile, Keron's grandfather (Amon's father), says he will miss him
so much. He says he had wanted Keron to be his heir. The two never met
often, but the old man says he loved and cherished the few times Keron
visited him on occasions like parties.
The truth about what killed Juliana’s son
Since the death of Juliana Kanyomozi's son, her friends, her fans and her family members have been trying to understand the cause of his death.Written by Sheila Mirembe
24th July 2014
Since the death of Juliana Kanyomozi's son, her friends, her fans and her family members have been trying to understand what really happened. The sudden death shocked many, although a few who were close to Juliana knew that her son had been ill for some time. In fact he was before being flown to Nairobi admitted at Nakasero Hospital where his condition became worse.
How the news of Juliana's son's death broke out
On Sunday, the on-line editions of a newspaper in Uganda announced that Juliana Kanyomozi's son had died. It said these were unconfirmed reports, which meant they were not sure. Juliana on her Facebook page denied the reports and said while her son Raphael Keron Kabugo was not well, he had not died. She asked her friends, family and fans to stand with her in prayer, and indeed they did in droves.
A few minutes later at 10.25am Juliana Kanyomozi posted on her wall that her son had passed on. He passed on at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi where he had been admitted. Juliana called him a fighter, meaning he had struggled against the disease that killed him with a fighting spirit and never once did he show signs that he had given up on his life. His father Amon Lukwago showed mourners a chit where Keron had written to him about his experience with injections, "Im used to needles now do you know how many injections I have got and I didn't feel pain not even crying"
Like every other high profile deaths, there is a lot of speculation that comes after the death has occurred. If it is a car accident, people start spreading rumors that he could have been killed by rivals, by government or by opposition politicians by so many other people. The case of Juliana's son has also been speculated about.
Juliana's son had acute asthma
The most accurate explanation of what killed Juliana Kanyomozi's son comes from her mother. Juliana's mother while speaking on a local television station on Tuesday night said "my grandson has had asthma since he was born. I am happy that my daughter looked after him in every single way a mother should have looked after a child. She knew this could happen because it was sometimes so close to that but now that it has happened it is not easy to believe. Keron is gone, he was our darling and may the lord rest his soul in peace."
All the doctors reports from Nakasero hospital and Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi point to asthma as the cause of death although he caught pneumonia as a result of his asthmatic condition.
Although asthma can be contained, sometimes it gets acute especially if someone is exposed to very bad weather or a condition they are allergic to. Some are allergic to dust others to cold.
Juliana's life after Keron
A close friend to Juliana says, "it is hard to see Juliana with a life after Keron. At her home, Keron's room was opposite Juliana's.It is hard to imagine her waking up in the morning and looking at the opposite door and the boy is not in there. All his games, his clothes, shoes and books are all in that room." But Juliana is a strong woman. She has handled the death with all the composure it desires although it is a very difficult experience for her.
A friend of hers who worked with her at Capital Radio told us that Keron has been part and parcel of Juliana's life and music career. "Keron was born around the time she was at Capital Radio, we saw the pregnancy grow and she gave birth. She also released 'Nabikoowa' at the same time, which was her biggest hit at the beginning."
Keron Raphael Kabugo, 11 was on Friday evening buried at his ancestral home in Kiryagonja, two Kilometers off Matuga town.

Before the burial, there was a requiem mass that was held at All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero.
While at the requiem mass, Juliana praised Keron as she defined him as a fighter.
“He was a very strong boy by the way. There is nothing i could not face when Keron was around,” she painfully praised the son.
Keron succumbed to an Asthma attack on Sunday (July 20) at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.
Keron was a primary six student at Aga Khan Primary School.
