A source who tipped this newspaper about his death intimated that the deceased died of liver cancer.
Mr Polly Kiiza, the younger brother, confirmed the death, saying he passed away at 6am yesterday at Rubaga Hospital and his body was still at the hospital mortuary by press time awaiting for an official programme today.

“I am not authorised to speak on behalf of the
family but he died Sunday, 6th July 2014 of old age and an ailment I
need to confirm,” he said.

The deceased had previously served as a senior
civil servant before his appointment as deputy minister in charge of
Higher Education.
After leaving Cabinet, he became chairman of the Makerere University appointments board and a member of the university’s council where he served for close to ten years.
