POLITICAL PARTIES HAVE LESSONS TO LEARN FROM KATIKKIRO CHARLES PETER MAYIGA

As one who advocates for a Presidential candidate who is not a Party President, I am of the view that the opposition political forces in Uganda have some lessons they can learn from the successes of Katikkiro Mayiga.  What Uganda needs is unity for a purpose of seeing a smooth change of Government from President Museveni.  When each Head of a political party thinks that he/she should be the Presidential candidate, this is where the division starts and it only gives opportunity to the incumbent to get more years.

If the opposition forces in Uganda sit with members of the civil society and some independent professionals and they come up with a formula of how to choose one who can be a flag bearer for the opposition forces, then work together to support him or her, chances of some successes are possible.  In the end, such a one will be seen as Katikkiro Mayiga is now with his popularity and the support he enjoys which has made many of his campaigns so far a big success.
