The Administration at Mengo has one big
advantage which when harnessed is a big driving force to see people
mobilized for
development, this is the love for their King and the readiness to do
what he preaches. This is a very good starting point to see people who
are locked up into poverty slowly but steadily get out of that
unfortunate state of affairs. Buganda has the potential to build a
powerful social infrastructure that can reach the people and mobilize
them for better production. This however calls for organizing the
marketing infrastructure of whatever can be produced. The kingdom’s
recognition of the role technical education can play in empowerment is
in the right direction.
