DOCUMENTING DONATIONS TO THE COVID - 19 TASK FORCE.

On Friday, April 17  Fresh Dairy donated milk powder worth Five Hundred Million (500 Million) Ushs to the National Response Fund for COVID - 19 Office of the Prime Minister.

On Thursday, April 16  UGX 80M was received from Mantra and 10 motorcycles donated by MAC EA/ Isuzu to support the COVID-19 response.

A donation of 500 test kits worth UGX 35 million from Dodta Group of Companies. This will give a good boost to our COVID-19 response.

On Tuesday, April 14  Today, on behalf of the National Task Force, Permanent Secretary, Dr Diana Atwine and Dr. Jane Aceng received an assortment of donations from various companies as below:

-Simba Automotives donated 3 motorcycles and 1 tricycle worth UGX 50M to support the COVID-19 response. The motorcycles will be used to transport surveillance teams while the tricycle will be an ambulance to transport communities during emergencies.

-The Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda has contributed hand sanitizers worth UGX 10M to the COVID-19 response in Uganda. 

- A donation from Super Medic worth UGX 15m of medicine and other essential supplies to support the COVID-19 response.

On Tuesday, April 14   On behalf of the National Taskforce, Dr. Diana Atwine received a cheque of UGX 285 M from Sanlam Insurance Company to support the National Response COVID-19 fund. Maria Cargo Importers also donated 300 bags (10kgs) of posho to the National Task Force for vulnerable communities.

Members of Uganda Manufacturers Association stepped up the fight against COVID - 18 through a donation to the NationalTaskForce of the Office of The Prime Minister. The consignments include food supplies and hospital items for the sick and health works received by the RT Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda.

On Friday, April 9   Crown Beverages Limited, the bottlers of Pepsi and related products has donated Shs 760m cash and a 4-wheel drive double cabin pick up to support Uganda's interventions against Coronavirus. So far, Crown Beverages Limited support towards the COVID-19 fight is valued at Shs 1b.

On Friday, April 10 The Church of Uganda donated 525 bags of maize flour and 500Kgs of beans to the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).

On Friday, April 10  Diamond Trust Bank CEO Mr. Thambi Vargehese handed over a Shs250 million Chequers to Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda.

On Thursday, April 9, DFCU Bank handed over a cash contribution of shs 70m and an assortment of goods valued at shs 30m which included: 5,000 non - sterile disposable gloves; 2,500 liters of liquid detergent; 2,500 liters of JIK and 2,000 bars of soap.

On Thursday, April 9, World Vision made a contribution worth shs 2bn to help health facilities and the health staff.

On Thursday, April 9  Ms. Eva Olivia a local business woman from Koboko donated cash 1.6M, 300 cartons of water, 50 kgs - maize flour, sugar - 150kgs, cooking oil - 9 cartons, salt - 25 cartons, rice - 25kgs, beans - 150kgs, assorted biscuits - 25 cartons and 4 cartons of toilet paper.

On Thursday, April 9. Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, On behalf of the National Task Force, COVID-19 response in Uganda. 

-25 tonnes of maize flour from Nile Breweries Ltd to support families hard hit by the lockdown. This will be given to families in Buikwe, Mbarara and Kampala.

-Housing Finance donated 30 mattresses, 30 boxes of gloves and 50 litres of sanitizer. This is necessary for our health workers working at the isolation facilities.

-Europa Engineering Ltd donated one wheelchair and an assortment of personal protective equipment in support of the COVID-19 response. 

-CIPLA/Quality Chemicals, donated 400 cartons of drinking water, 3 tonnes of rice, 1 tonne of beans and 2.5 tonnes of posho.

-Fuel worth UGX 120M from Total Uganda. Stanbic Uganda, Uganda Breweries Ltd, to support contact tracing, evacuation of patients and transportation of samples.

-DFCU gave us UGX 100M.

-Gateway buses are providing us with 3 buses to aid the transportation of health workers from the health facilities to the places of accomodation. 

-Ahmed Raza Food Industries donated food supplies comprising of; home baking flour and biscuits. 

-2 Ugandan residents of Koboko district Ms. Eva Olivia and Eden Okia, reached out to us to support the response. They donated; UGX 1.6M cash, 300 cartons of water, 50 kgs of maize flour, 30 bags of sugar, 9 cartons of cooking oil, 25 cartons of salt, 25kgs of rice,150kgs of beans, 25 cartons of assorted biscuits & 4 cartons of toilet paper.

On Thursday, April 9,  ‪Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng received medical grade mattresses and sanitizers from Michael Mugabi the Managing Director Housing Finance Bank Uganda. 

On Thursday, April 9  Mr  Ahmed Bong from Crane Management Services, a Ruparelia Group company, handed over  a key to Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda, to symbolise the donation of two Tata pick-up cars to the Government’s Task force against the Covid-19 pandemic. 

On Thursday, April 9  House of Prayer Ministries led by Pastor Aloysius Bugingo donated UGX100 million shillings to help the government in the fight against COVID - 19.

On Tuesday, March 31  The Ministry of Health- Uganda Principal Administrative Secretary, Everest Ahimbisibwe has received 100 cartons of Nivana water from Crown Beverages Limited to be dispatched to quarantine and health centers. Additionally, 
Crown Beverages Limited has committed UGX 20M to support to the fight against COVID-19 in Uganda.

On Wednesday, April 1 the Ministry of Health received 100 tonnes of sugar from Kaliro Sugar, a subsidiary of Alam Group. The sugar will be distributed to Entebbe Grade B hospital, Mulago National Specialised Hospital, all Regional Referral Hospitals and health workers managing COVID-19 patients.

On Thursday, April 2  the Ministry of Health received an array of donation from a number of companies as part of their support to the fight against COVID-19 in Uganda.
The donation includes:

- 200 mattresses from Sprout Capital Investments.

- 500 cartons of handwash and sanitizers from MOVIT/Skin Guard Products.

- 500 PPE, 30,000 pairs of gloves, 1,200 hand sanitizers, 100 cartons of washing powder, 200 ltrs of liquid soap and 90 pieces of face shield from the Indian Association of Uganda.

- USD 30,000$ from Sunbelt Investments
- 3 Spray pumps from Echo
- 17,000 bars of soap from BRAC Uganda

On Friday, April 3 On behalf of Government of Uganda, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Diana Atwine received UGX 200 million from SCD Uganda(Manufacturers of Darling Hair Products), Ltd as their contribution to the fight against COVID-19 in #Uganda. The Uganda Association of External Recruitment Agency through Hillary Arinda donated 30,000 gloves to support our health workers in the response. 
We also received gas cylinders worth UGX 20 Million from Stabex Gas for our health workers and health facilities.  

On Monday, 6 April Seyani Brothers donated UGX 50 Million to the COVID-19 response in Uganda. This was received by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Diana Atwine this morning at the Ministry of Health headquarters.

On Monday, April 6 The staff of the IGAD Secretariat (Intergovernmental Authority on Development) donated USD 100,000 (UGX 376,300,000) to the COVID-19 response. 

This will aid in service delivery to patients affected by the disease. Similarly, the other 7 member states will also receive USD 100,000 towards their response to the pandemic.

While receiving the cheque from IGAD representative, Lucy Ongod, State Minister in charge of Primary Health Care, Hon. Joyce Moriku Kaducu lauded the staff for their contribution and noted that this will go a long way in positively impacting Ugandans affected by the pandemic.

On Monday, April 6  Stanbic Bank through their CEO, Anne Juuko donated UGX 100M towards the COVID-19 response in Uganda. This will be used for logistics and supplies for health workers. This was received by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Diana Atwine at the Ministry of Health headquarters. 

On Monday, April 6 The Director General Health Services, Dr Henry Mwebesa received 30,000 face masks from Jumia Uganda through Ron Kawamara. The face masks will be distributed to the health workers at the various health facilities and border points across the country. 

Jumia continues to support the COVID-19 response in Uganda by providing logistics (delivery trucks) for essential medical supplies and other items across the country. Thank you, Jumia. We appreciate you.

On Tuesday, April 7, On behalf of Government of Uganda, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Diana Atwine received the following donations to support the COVID-19 response in Uganda. These include:

- UGX 100 M, 1,000 pairs of bed sheets, 10,000 locally produced face masks from Nytil Industries. The bedsheets will be distributed to the quarantine centers, face masks will be given to the health workers while the donation will be used for supplies for the response.

- 10 tonnes of Posho from Fresh Cuts. This will be distributed to the families hard hit by the lockdown in the areas of: Seguku, Kajjansi and Lweza, Zana and Namasuba, Bunamwaya and Ndeeba, Nakulabye and Kasubi.

-100 cartons of soap, 100 cartons of multi-purpose flour and 50 boxes of Pembe oil from Pembe Group/Bajaber Industries Ltd. This will be used for health workers who are at the forefront of the COVID-19 response.

-UGX 75M donated by Arab Contractors

KABAKA RONALD MUWENDA MUTEBI II IS THANKED FOR HIS PARENTAL HEART ON CONTRIBUTING TO THE COVID - 19 TASK FORCE FOR THE GOOD OF UGANDANS.

On Tuesday, April 7, Ssaabasajja Kabaka Muwenda Mutebi II donated food and other items worth shs 100M to the Government of Uganda to the COVID-19 pandemic task force. The contributions were delivered by Prince Wasajja to the Office of the Prime Minister.

Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda on his part thanked His Highness the Kabaka of Buganda for the contribution given the challenges of COVID - 19.

Dr. Prosperous Nankindu Kavuma was available at the function and outlined areas which were deemed priority beneficiaries.

Among other items delivered include: Food, over 30 tanks, sanitizers, gloves Face masks to mention some.

On Wednesday 8, April 2020.

The National Task Force received a range of donations in support of the COVID-19 response in Uganda. These include:
- A cash donation of UGX 20M, cooking oil and rice worth UGX 20M and mobile phones worth UGX 10M from Sinohydro Corporation Ltd.

-Sarrai Group donated supplies worth UGX 300M. These are:-
-20,000kgs of sugar
-5,000 bags of wheat flour
-10,000 bars soap
-10,000 litres of sanitisers
- Blue Wave water through Nakawa Mayor, Ronald Balimwezo provided 800 cartons of drinking water.

- Dodta group of companies donated 10,000 face masks and 500 test kits 
- Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi donated soap for hand washing and food supplies comprising of posho and salt for rural communities
