BY DELAYING LCI ELECTIONS, GOVT IS PLAYING TRICKS

The New Vision, Monday, May 5, 2014 had an article, “Govt. wants LCI’s voted during 2016 elections.”  This is merely Government gimmicks to use the LC1 infrastructure they are used to for the Government’s ends.  I was surprised to see that an LC 1 chairman could be contacted to get security guards under some funny reserve forces.  Some of the forces I have seen include retired army personnel.  All that Government is doing is to use the LC1 infrastructure to achieve Government ends.  It is common knowledge that some LC1 officials have in the past been party to the cheating in national elections.  It is therefore incumbent upon the opposition to put pressure on Government so that the LC1 elections are undertaken before 2016 general elections.
