Following the
delayed printing of result slips, students are urged to apply for a Letter of
Verification of Results (LVR) from UNEB, a document accepted by Universities as
a requirement for admission, charged at shs 30,000!
Hopefully, UNEB did
not plan this strategy as a means of overcoming its financial problems. A simple LVR would at most go for shs 5,000,
making a gross profit of about shs 25,000 when students pay shs 30,000.
The New Vision,
Monday, May 26, 2014, under “Makerere admitting private students today,” it is
said that Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is yet to release the
result slips for the 2013 A ‘ level Examinations. Hamis Kaheru the spokesman of UNEB is quoted
to have said, “The issuance of result slips delayed because we had hitches
during the procurement of paper on which they are printed due to the rigid
procurement law.”
