GOVERNMENT WITHDRAW OF SUPPORT TO USE IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS IS UNFORTUNATE

Many times when one listens to the Government proposals, one wonders whether our leaders in Government are serious.  It is true that the amount of money Government is paying in private schools for the Universal Secondary School (USE) students is minimal compared to what other students pay.  It is also true that head teachers have had difficult time getting the monies from Government and to some their operations have actual been badly affected.  That situation as bad as it may be, Government is not serious abandoning the partnership as long as there is good supervision, and instead imagine that they are going to construct new schools, furnish them and also their operational up keep.  What may seem to make good sense is for Government to go back to the drawing board and rectify what is not going on well.  One may ask, what will happen to the students who would be supported in private USE schools at a time when Government will be constructing new schools.  The project does not look feasible.  Looks like it is a tactical withdraw given the Governments’ financial constraints.
