HOW IS CHARGING FERRY USERS A HOT POTATO?

NRM patronage will kill Uganda.  How does Government fail to charge users of a ferry?  Does it make sense?  Someone transports goods for sale and you let him free?  What about one with a vehicle on a ferry?  It is simple logic.  If Government fails to meet the cost, and the ferry transport is withdrawn, would it be logical to blame the people?  I don’t think any person with substance expects a free service.  This business of using what is supposed to be a viable undertaking for politicking will never help Uganda.  There can surely be exceptions to the rule like the sick going for treatment including the pregnant women, but anybody with business interests should be able to meet the cost.

The new vision, Monday, May 5, 2014 reported that Ministry plans to charge passengers using ferries.  What I have to say is that this is long overdue, otherwise the service ends unsustainable.
